2024 Chevy Avalanche Models, Specs, Price – This year’s 2024 Chevy Avalanche, a midsize pickup vehicle, is unaltered chiefly from its predecessor. The Honda Ridgeline and Nissan Frontier have been upgraded, while the Ford Maverick is a new compact truck to add to the lineup. The lack of conventional safety and convenience features detracts from Avalanche’s attractiveness as an automobile.
2024 Chevy Avalanche Redesign
As a black sports jacket, the 2024 Chevy Avalanche holds its own but pales compared to the Canyon. The rivals to the general have stepped up their fashion game to a new level. Classic pickup trucks look and feel fresher in this new generation of Nissan Frontier and Honda Ridgeline, both based on SUVs. Even so, the 6’s traditional styling cues of square wheel arches, chiseled fender flares, and a barbell logo crossing the grille link the headlamps.
The broad mesh grille of the ZR2 and the tailgate inscription “Chevrolet” instead of the bowtie characterize the new ZR2 model. The Trail Boss option is available on LT and Z71 models with a 1.0-inch lift, front and mid-skid plates, 17-inch black wheels, and red tow hooks if you want the off-road style without the off-road price. All but the entry-level Work Truck, which has vinyl seats and a hard plastic dashboard, include an easy-to-use 8.0-inch touchscreen.
Inetrior
The 2024 Chevy Avalanche huge beds offer it a competitive edge. It is available with either a 5-foot-2 short bed and a crew cab or a 6-foot-2 long bed in crew cab or extended cab designs. Sadly, the benefits stop at the beds and the corner steps of this establishment. Despite the Avalanche’s impressive load capacity, its stiff and shallow back seats keep it from earning a full five stars after eight years. To reach the two cramped back seats, the enlarged cab’s rear-hinged doors swing out, making it easier to get in and out of both seats.
The best feature of these chairs is the under-seat storage. Our dogs and I both favor the 60/40-split rear seats that tilt forward in the crew cab because they provide the same level of comfort as a church pew for our backsides. Heat and power lumbar adjustments are offered for the front seats that come standard in vinyl, fabric, or leather. However, the front seats, like the church pew, put safety and performance ahead of your comfort.
Engine
All except the standard 2.5-liter inline-4-powered Avalanche, which was built for capability rather than speed.When it comes to acceleration and towing, it reacts like a teenager to a to-do list, putting the basics into basic models. Towing 3,500 lbs with a 6-speed automatic gearbox is possible, although other crossover SUVs with higher horsepower can do the same. Like most purchasers of the Avalanche, we’d consider an upgrade. Double towing capability is achieved with the 3.6L V-6’s 308 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque. Midsize SUVs are often criticized for their lack of space, especially in the back seat.
The 8-speed automatic transmission on the V-6 is smoother and more economical, while the engine itself is quicker off the line and when passing. The turbodiesel 2.8-liter inline-4 makes 181 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque with a 6-speed automated transmission, allowing it to haul 7,700 pounds. While the GMC Canyon’s diesel engine is the only one in the class that can get 30 mpg on the interstate, it is noisier and rougher around town. Rear-wheel drive on the 2024 Chevy Avalanche solid axle and leaf springs makes it seem more like an outdated Toyota Tacoma than a unibody Honda.

The Colorado is available in WT, LT, Z71, and 2024 Chevy Avalanche trims, with prices ranging from roughly $27,000 to more than twice that when the Bison package is added to the Avalanche model.
