2024 Chevy Colorado ZR2 Engine, Redesign, Specs – For more than a decade, the Chevrolet Colorado has been a part of this group. Without spending time or money on extras, it has a remarkable towing capacity for the midsize class. If you’re looking for style and quality, you’re going to have a hard time beating the 2024 Chevy Colorado at a fair price. There isn’t much interest in the 200-horsepower, 191-lb-ft-of-torque base-level engine, but the V6 or turbo-diesel four-cylinder options have won over buyers.
2024 Chevy Colorado Redesign
In addition to the new package, Chevrolet is not altering the 2024 Chevy Colorado model. In addition to the red tow hooks and a one-inch suspension-leveling kit, black 17-inch ZR2 wheels, black exterior badging, and mid-vehicle skid plates, the dealer-installed Trail Boss package will be available this year on the 4WD LT and Z71 models only. The substantial middle bar holds a Chevy golden bowtie, which adorns the front fascia, making it bold and assertive.
The bar that runs between the massive, blocky headlights and the daytime running lights cuts the ridged black grille in half. The WT and LT are halogen units; on the Z71 and ZR2, they are projector beams. From the Z71 up, fog lights are also included. A black bowtie and a wider grille are added to the ZR2 instead of the Z71, which already sports a black bowtie. The wheels on the WT are 17-inch silver-painted steel, while those on the LT are 17-inch alloys.
Interior
A basic but sturdy design and a lot of hard plastic make the inside equally as robust as the outside. Cabin room is determined by the cab’s size, and more options are available at higher trim levels. Similarly, the quality and materials used in construction have improved. With its no-frills, utilitarian design, it’s only natural that the controls be arranged this way. There are leather seats in the higher-end grades, but the vehicle is beginning to show its age. Although the outside of the vehicle was recently redesigned, the inside was left untouched.
Only four people may fit in the Extended Cab’s back seat, and the two narrow rear-hinged doors make it difficult to get in and out. It’s severely constrained in terms of legroom, as well. The Crew Cab is the best option if you often need to transport large groups of people, since it is simpler to get in and out of and has ample legroom for adults.
Engine
The base engine is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder with 200 horsepower and 191 pound-feet of torque with a six-speed automated gearbox. There is enough power to get the truck about town or to do some light-duty work with the outdated and uninteresting components. There is also a 2.8-liter Duramax Turbo Diesel, which is available on everything but the basic model. Although the six-speed automatic transmission is the same, the new model has a lot more torque: 181 horsepower and 369 lb-ft. The Chevy’s engine may not be fast or responsive, but it is capable of a lot of work thanks to its motor.
In fact, this front-wheel drivetrain configuration offers the maximum 7,700-lb towing capability. Alternatively, a 3.6-liter V6 engine is available on all models if you don’t mind sacrificing a little bit of performance. It has 308 horsepower and 275 lb-ft of torque when paired with an eight-speed automatic gearbox. As a result, even though it loses some towing capacity, it has a lot more power for faster acceleration and overall agility.
2024 Chevy Colorado Release Date and Price
The Chevy Colorado’s pricing ranges widely. The extended cab with the long box and the basic 2.5-liter engine are usually the most affordable options. The WT costs $25,200, while the LT costs an additional $2,500. When fitted with four-wheel drive, both the Z71 and ZR2 can only be had in extended cab form, which costs an additional $36,500 or $42,600. With the exception of the Z71’s base price of $34,800 for the 2WD model, the Crew Cab/Short Box combination is a little more expensive. On the WT or LT, the cost of upgrading to a V6 engine is $1,485 more. The beginning price of the 2WD LT is $6,915; the 4WD Z71 is $4,595; and the ZR2 is $3,720. With the all-wheel drivetrain, the base WT costs $3,515 more and the LT $3,215 more than before.
