2024 Chevy Camaro LT2 Redesign, Engine, MPG – Both the coupe and convertible 2024 Chevy Camaro sound like throwbacks to the ’60s, yet they provide the modern-day performance.
The Ford Mustang, Dodge Challenger, BMW Z4, and Toyota Supra are its main competitors. The Camaro is a joy to drive when racing, but it’s not quite as comfortable on the road.
2024 Chevy Camaro Redesign
There is no longer an option to add the LT2 package to the V-8 2024 Chevy Camaro. 2024 Chevy Camaro come in various trim levels, from the base LS up to the LT, SS, and LT2 models offered by Chevrolet. Aside from their grilles, which all have a similar texture and form like a Coke bottle, they all have a similar body shape. The inside has some of those inspirations, but it’s predominantly black, and gray washed out with a touchscreen to spice things up a little. Despite the Camaro’s ominous looks, Chevy backs it up with a choice of agile, quick, and tight-knit handling options.
If you’ve got the GOAT supercharged V-8, you can get from zero to 60mph in just 3.5 seconds, and when you’ve got the LT2 track package, it sticks to the track like a rental-apartment window sticker. Regardless of which engine you have, the car is capable of accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in just 5.4 seconds, and it sounds like a hard-working economy car. Only two people can enjoy the Camaro, and they’ll need shorter heads and necks to wear caps or helmets while doing so.
Interior
The only place you should sit in a rear-drive performance icon like the 2024 Chevy Camaro is in the superb driver’s seat. Both front and rear seat occupants are deprived of power adjustments and enough legroom, respectively. We’re down to a 3 here after subtracting points for the undersized rear seat and the short trunk. Despite having a comfortable, power-adjustable driver seat, the manual passenger seat joins it in enjoying a narrow perspective of the world outside of the Camaro’s cloth-upholstered interior.
Two of our drivers had difficulty sitting comfortably in the Camaro while wearing racing helmets, even with the heated and cooled Recaro bucket seats that were installed. Even if we’ve tried it, we don’t recommend it. Convertible Camaros have a trunk capacity of just 7.3 cubic feet; coupes have a trunk that lifts up high and has a narrow entrance. A thick-lined power-folding top may be rapidly removed from a convertible.
Engine
Bro, you’re doing a good job here. There is 295 lb-ft of torque available from as low as 275 horsepower in the standard vehicle’s turbo-4 engine, which means the car can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in only 5.4 seconds and has ready power at just about any sensible engine speed, too. There is no guilt in opting for the 8-speed automatic over the 6-speed manual in this situation, since it sounds more like an economy sedan than a poster hero. It takes 5.0 seconds to reach 60 miles per hour in a Chevy Camaro SS with a manual transmission and 335 horsepower from a 3.6-liter V-6 engine. The 284 lb-ft of torque sounds more muscle car-like.
In our fantasies, the 2024 Chevy Camaro has a V-8, which is why the LT2 and SS coupes and convertibles of the Camaro line have a 455-hp 6.2-liter V-8 and 455 lb-ft of torque, respectively. It can sprint from 0-60 mph in 4.0 seconds while emitting a characteristic sound from the 1960s. If you’re willing to put up with the ZL1’s supercharged engine’s 650 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque, you’ll get there in 3.5 seconds and cruise around the quarter-mile in 11.4 seconds.
